    Thu 28 Mar 2019
    Reminder...
Tomorrow is our PSA Coin Trail so it’s the final opportunity for children to bring in coins for the competition. Each class will be trying to make the longest/widest line of coins. There will be a winner from each key stage so check down the back of the sofa or under the bed & send them in. Thanks for all your help and support.
  • PSA 'Coin Trail'

    Fri 22 Mar 2019
It's almost time for the PSA 'Coin Trail'. This annual event is very popular with the children as they compete to see which classes can collect the greatest number of coins. Children are encouraged to bring coins into school - pennies are fine but other coins are welcome too - so that each class can make a 'line' in the PE Hall on Friday, 29th March. The classes (one from each key stage) which have the longest/widest lines will win a prize. All the money raised will go to the PSA and will be used to enhance the experiences our pupils have at school.

We have had 2 recent cheque presentations for events this year.

Following the success of the Coffee Morning in January we were able to present a cheque for £500 to the Air Ambulance Service. Special mention goes to Mavis Hamilton for raising £120 herself for this cause!! Thank you Mavis!!

We had a Super Hero dress up day in February which raised £550 for Autism NI.

Once again, thank you for all your support to these local charities.

  • Thanks from PSA

    Fri 01 Mar 2019
Many thanks to everyone who has supported our PSA's fundraising efforts so far this term. The, ever-popular, school disco was held in January and was very much enjoyed by all the pupils who came along. With entrance fees and the tuck shop, the discos made a profit of almost £1000 - wow! The PSA also held a 'Curry Night' during February. This was an opportunity for parents to relax and enjoy some great food at the Bengal Brasserie. This event made a profit of £180. We really appreciate everyone's support and would like to thank members of the PSA (Parent Staff Association) for all their hard work to raise money for school.
  • E Safety Advice

    Fri 01 Mar 2019 J Currie

Currently there is a huge issue with children using social media platforms and the dangers that these forums bring. You may have been aware of particular issues that have made the headlines in recent days and weeks.

At Cairnshill we will always teach children the importance of staying safe online and this message was brought to the children only last month during Safer Internet Day.

Please check out these guidelines on the use of social media and e-safety. If your child is aware of specific characters/issues, please remind them to not spread their concerns or images with others as some children can become very upset and anxious.

Schools operate through secure computer networks so parents can be reassured that children can have full internet access in a controlled environment.

I hope that the guidelines will assist you in the future.
