On Monday, 28th April sixty-eight of our P7 pupils, along with seven adults, will be heading off to Loch Insh in the Scottish Highlands. They will enjoy an action-packed week participating in a wide range of activities such as:- orienteering, kayaking, sailing, skiing, archery, biking, raft-building, problem-solving, canoeing and wind-surfing. As our school kitchen was being renovated last term, we were unable to celebrate Christmas with our annual Christmas Dinner. Our team of kitchen staff decided we shouldn't miss out on this special festive experience. Now that our fantastic new kitchen is operational, the plan was made to celebrate Christmas in April!
Around 250 children decided to join in the fun and the dining hall echoed to the sound of Christmas music. Santa hats, antlers and Christmas jumpers added to the festive scene. We even had some Christmas trees and special lights. Many thanks to all the lunch-time staff who worked hard to make sure everyone enjoyed this extra-special Christmas experience.
On Friday, 4th April the PSA organised our annual Money Trail. Each class was challenged to bring in as much loose change as possible. The winners would be the class with the longest/widest line of coins. Everyone worked very hard to lay the coins out in the 'Green Hall' where the floor was almost covered by all the money donated. The winning classes were P1S and P6B; we hope they enjoyed their prizes.
After lots and lots and lots of counting, we are delighted to announce that the final total is a magnificent £1700. Well done, everyone!
After a very busy week for the team of Capita engineers, our new computer system is ready for use. Each classroom has got a brand new PC for the pupils to use. Our ICT Suite has also got new machines and the class set of laptops has been replaced. Although there have been a few minor problems, we're delighted with how the 'transformation' has gone. Hopefully, any remaining issues will be sorted out this week so that all the technology can be used for its main purpose - supporting teaching and learning.
