  • School Calendar

    Sun 17 Sep 2017

The new school year is now well underway and already the school diary is filling up with significant dates.

Did you know you can link our School Calendar to your phone/tablet by subscribing to the calendar?

This means that all the events from the calendar will automatically pull through to your personal calendar, alongside any other existing calendars you may already have. You only have to subscribe once; any changes made will be reflected in your personal calendar. Please note, events on subscribed calendars are not editable.

Please note: although the calendar updates instantly, it may take up to 24 hours for new events to show in your personal calendar depending on which type of calendar you are using.

Check out the 'Calendar' page on our website for further details:-

    http://www.cairnshillps.co.uk/…/subscri…/

We'll be adding lots more dates to the diary over the coming weeks.

  • Accelerated Reader Programme

    Sat 16 Sep 2017

    Can you help?

Our Key Stage 2 (P5-P7) pupils take part in the 'Accelerated Reader' programme. This provides teachers, pupils and parents with lots of information about the child's reading progress and, with individual targets set for them, children are motivated to read daily.

There are two ways parents/friends can help...

    - Do you have any good quality children's books which are no longer needed by your family? We'd be delighted to receive them and find them a new home in our class libraries. Books can be sent to your child's teacher or left at the school office.

    - Could you donate a prize for the half-termly 'AR Celebration'? We like to celebrate the success of all the children who reach their targets. Previous prizes have included vouchers (Smyth's, Claire's, Dominos, Subway etc); stationery; small toys; chocolate or sweets... Anything appropriate for 8-11 year olds will be gratefully received.

    Many thanks

  • After School Activities

    Fri 15 Sep 2017

Our after-school activity programme begins on Monday with dance (P5) and taekwondo (P6 & P7). These activities are led by external coaches so there is a charge of £20 for the 10 week programme (great value!). There are a few places still available for pupils in these year groups. If interested, please contact Mr Savage first thing on Monday morning so your child is able to join in from week 1.

Please note - kayaking (P7) also begins on Monday but this activity is fully booked.

  • School Meals' Menu

  • DIY Day - 9th September

    Wed 06 Sep 2017

    DIY DAY! Saturday 9th September

Could you spare some time to help improve the appearance of the school?

We are calling for volunteers (parents/grandparents/friends) to help with little bits of painting, weeding, power hosing and general tidying around the school grounds.

If you could spare even half an hour or more it would be greatly appreciated. Refreshments will be available if that helps encourage some!

The school will be open from 9am until the afternoon (finish time to be determined!) Hopefully the weather will be kind!  You can let us know if you could help out by contacting the school office or commenting on our Facebook page.

Thank you so much for helping to make our school even better!
