The new Sports Council has been chosen and the committee are full of ideas for year ahead. The P7 children involved are keen to help everyone stay engaged and improve their participation in sport and Physical Education. They realise the importance of this role and the platform that it can provide for creating a healthy lifestyle mindset for everyone’s future beyond Cairnshill.
Many children in their applications stated that “sport can change lives” with all children regardless of age or ability making new friends and gaining skills along the way. The Sports Council want to promote the ethos of “Give it a Go and don’t say NO!”
This year’s Sports Council are very enthusiastic and are looking to build on what has been achieved in the past. They have a lot of new ideas and initiatives that will be discussed at our meetings throughout the year from, Sporting Hero dress up day, History of Sport talk, Novelty Skills Day, Give it a Go Day and lots, lots more. So watch this space for some upcoming events throughout the year.
They will be involved in activities throughout the year from Primary 1 to Primary 7 and we look forward to the positive impact they will have on sport and Physical Education throughout our school.
