On Thursday, 23rd February there will be a change to the published dinner menu. Instead of salmon fillets, children will have a choice of fish, beef or chicken, along with baked beans and mashed potato. Dessert will be swiss roll or fruit.

Our P7 pupils have been studying flight as part of their 'Up, Up and Away!' topic. After looking at birds, hot air balloons and the Wright Brothers, it was time for something a little different. We were delighted to participate in STEM workshops with 'Go Fly Your Kite' this morning. Each class had a session in the hall where they found out more about the history of flight. They had a quick paper aeroplane competition but soon moved on to learning about kites. Each pupil designed and coloured their own special kite. There was time to test these out in the playground and everyone was amazed by their new found expertise! Look out for low flying kites around the Cairnshill area.

A team of P7 pupils travelled to Lisburn Leisureplex to compete in the Lisburn & Castlereagh primary schools' 'Sports Hall Athletics' event. There were 23 schools represented with teams of 12 children from each so the hall was rather busy! The children competed in a series of events including relays, sprinting, jumping and throwing. Both the girls' and boys' teams won their heats of the sprint relay event. Special congratulations to Mark Glenn (P7M) who came first equal in the boys' chest throw. A full list of results will be sent to school in due course.
