The Cairnshill mini-rugby group, along with some P7 pupils, went to Newforge today to watch an Ireland rugby team training session. Lots of excited pupils boarded their bus in the morning hoping to get a good view of some of their heroes. It was cold and breezy at the side of the pitch but the children had a great view of the players as they completed lots of training drills. Hopefully, our pupils have picked up a few tips which will help them improve their own skills.
The highlight came at the end of the training session when the players went around signing autographs and chatting to the spectators. The children were delighted to meet some of them and acquired autographs on shirts, phone covers & flags! We're grateful to the organisers for the opportunity to go along and are sure that this is a day the children will remember for a long time.
