Books...books...books...
At Cairnshill we love to read and we try to ensure we have lots of exciting books for children to borrow. Unfortunately, these don't always make their way back to school. Over time, class libraries, school library, reading books, group novels get depleted so we're launching a book amnesty over the next week or so. We don't mind how long you've been in possession of a school book; we'd just love to have it back. Please look under the bed, behind the sofa etc and dig out any books which belong to school. No one will be counting how many you return - we'll just be delighted to get them back! If you have any children's books, in good condition, which your family no longer require, we'd also be delighted to offer them a new home. Many thanks!
Well done to all staff and children who dressed up as heroes today to raise money for Autism NI. We had a wide range of heroes, from Marvel and DC comic heroes to our everyday heroes in the NHS and emergency response teams!!
P1Barnes have created their very own Super Hero art on the computer for us all to 'marvel' at!! Mr Oliver even got to meet his Super Hero, Mrs Hamilton!!
We managed to raise £500 today which was brilliant!! Enjoy the photos and your half term break!
Cairnshill PS are delighted to be working towards our Forest School Award. Mrs Barnes and Mr Oliver have a team of enthusiastic pupils (and Mrs Torney!) who are exploring our environment and having fun in the process. The award programme is supported by Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council.
It is hoped that we will receive our official recognition towards the end of the year. Check out the latest photographs for an insight into the work that is going on in the ECO section of this website. Further updates will be posted throughout the year.
