  • P5-P7 Carol service

    Wed 10 Dec 2014
Final rehearsals took place today for the Senior Carol Service which will be held tomorrow (Thursday, 11th) evening.  The choir and orchestra will perform first and then, all of the pupils in Key Stage 2 will join them for 'Christmas Around the World'.  We're delighted that all the children are taking part and we hope you enjoy the performance.  The evening show (7pm) is fully booked but there are still some seats available at the afternoon (2pm) performance.  We're very proud of how all the children have worked together to put on this event and we hope you enjoy the show!

  • Senior Corridor - Refurbishment

    Thu 04 Dec 2014
We are delighted that most of the refurbishment work on the P6 & P7 corridor is now complete.  New flooring has been laid on the corridor and both the boys' and girls' toilet areas have been completely refitted.  Next term the cloakroom area will be updated and the final job will be repainting of the whole corridor.  Check out photos of the work so far.
  • Girls' Football Tournament

    Wed 03 Dec 2014
Today, two teams of girls travelled to Lisburn Leisureplex to compete in an IFA girls' football tournament.  None of the girls had played in a competitive match before so this was a new experience for everyone!  There were some tough opponents as several of the teams were made up of girls who regularly play for club sides.  However, the Cairnshill girls worked really hard and definitely improved as the tournament progressed.  One of our teams came second in their group and reached the semi-final of the tournament.  Unfortunately they were defeated by Harmony Hill PS but the girls should be very proud of their achievement.  Most importantly everyone enjoyed the experience and the girls are hoping for an opportunity to compete against other schools in the future!
  • Christmas Fair

    Mon 01 Dec 2014

Our annual Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday, 6th December at 1pm.  As usual there will be lots going on and we hope to see lots of you there.  This week, preparations will be taking place in school and we'd be delighted to receive your donations for our various stalls.  Books, CDs, DVDs, toys, toiletries, groceries and household items can all be sent into school on any day this week.  We also ask each child to donate a packet of sweets or bar of chocolate for the Sweet Stall.  Many thanks to those who have volunteered to bake for the Cake Stall or afternoon teas; these items should be brought to the Staffroom on Friday morning.

During this week, pupils can buy tickets for the 'Soft Toy' or 'Tablet' raffle - £1.  We've also been given a lovely teddy and for only 50p (1 guess) or £1 (3 guesses), children can guess his name.  Hopefully he'll be off to a new home on Saturday!

No doubt there'll be a few reminders sent home this week regarding arrangements for the fair - many thanks for your support!  It's events like this which help us to provide additional resources for our pupils and make our school an even better place.
