EXCITING NEWS! 13th September is the birthday of the World’s Number One Storyteller, Roald Dahl, who is read and loved by children (and adults) all over the world. Roald Dahl Day is an annual opportunity to raise a glass of chocolate milk in celebration of the great man’s imagination and super writing.
In Cairnshill, to celebrate this event, Mr. Willy Wonka (one of Dahl’s most famous characters) will be coming to our school to give away a free chocolate bar to every child. *
As if that were not exciting enough, one bar of chocolate in every class will contain a special golden ticket!
The pupils who are fortunate enough to find the golden ticket in their chocolate bar need to bring it to assembly the following week (KS1- 20/9/13, KS2- 18/9/13) where they will be presented with a special Roald Dahl themed prize.
Children should try to read a poem or part of a story written by Roald Dahl before then, so they can enjoy sharing this exciting experience.
