The Primary Fives have been eagerly watching their hungry caterpillars over the past 3 weeks as part of their Animal Topic. Steadily growing, the caterpillars have spent the past week ‘tucked up’ inside their chrysalis and have had a few overnight stays as children took it in turn to ‘babysit’ them at home.
With movement on Monday, the children have been on ‘high alert’, as one by one the butterflies carefully emerged. We have had the opportunity to study the wings, legs, body parts and their ‘straw like’ tongue with first hand experience. What a week!
