The P7 Mini Enterprise group worked in collaboration with “Bog Standard”- a local business which sells luxury candles and fragrances. We are grateful to Mrs Alix Mulholland who taught the children about running a business. The children worked very hard to design, produce, market and sell “Perfumed Pockets” to pupils from P3 to P7. They composed a song, performed a dance and acted out a little drama to persuade their customers to make some purchases. The perfumed pockets are little material covered scented sachets. The business was very successful and once the cost of materials was deducted, a fantastic profit of £335.85 was gained. This amount was presented to Diabetes UK in Assembly on 4th May.
The children were keen to support this charity as Rachel in P7 has diabetes and is also a member of the Mini Enterprise Group. As usual we are entering the Junior Industry Challenge competition which is run by SENTINUS. The children will explain their project using a Powerpoint presentation and a judge will chat with the P7 pupils involved. We are hopeful of obtaining a Gold Award again this year.
