This year, Cairnshill PS is celebrating our 50th birthday! A lot has changed since school first opened back in 1966 and we want to celebrate this special birthday with a few special events throughout the year.  Many of the events will be for our current pupils but parents and past pupils will get the chance to join in with some of them too.

Our first event takes place, tomorrow, Monday, 10th October when members of our School Council will release 50 (biodegradable) balloons from the Junior Playground.  All our classes will join in by watching the release.  If you're in the area around 1.30pm, look up and see if you can spot them!

Our family poster competition is already underway with everyone encouraged to take part. Paint, draw, colour, use technology - any media accepted - as you create an A3 'Celebrating 50 Years' poster.  All entries must be submitted by Monday, 24th October.  A 'judging panel' will choose three main winners from Foundation Stage (P1 & P2); Key Stage 1 (P3 & P4) and Key Stage 2 (P5-P7). We'll share some pictures of the entries on our website after winners are announced.
